LOCATION
Huntington Beach, California, is a beautiful city located along the Pacific
Ocean, 35 miles south of Los Angeles and Los Angeles International Airport.

BEACH
& BEACH PARKING
The nearly 200,000 residents of Huntington Beach enjoy 8.5 miles of beaches
that include a paved path for pedestrians, bicyclists and roller blade skaters.
An additional 25 mile paved path along the Santa Ana River Trail continues inland.
BIRDS
Huntington Beach natural resources include bird watching at Central Park and
the Bolsa Chica Ecological Reserve, deemed a significant wetlands by the Ramsar
Convention. Both are open to the public and include free parking. Three organizations
focused on issues relating to this natural resource operate an Interpretive
Center, sponsor monthly clean up activities and offer educational programs and
guided tours.
BOATS
Huntington Harbour is a popular waterfront community of five manmade islands
that contain around 5,000 houses, many with docks and slips for boats. There
are two public marinas, Sunset Aquatic Park located at the end of Edinger Street,
and Huntington Harbour Launch Ramp at the Huntington Harbour Yacht Club near

Huntington Harbour offers water sports activities. You can rent kayaks from several vendors along Pacific Coast Highway in Sunset Beach or Duffy boats at Peter's Landing Marina. An annual treat is the Huntington Harbour Boat Parade and Cruise of Lights.
FISHING
Huntington Beach features the finest fishing pier in California, a state-of-the-art
concrete pier stretching 1850 feet into the ocean. It is the longest municipal
pier of its kind in California. Fishing on California piers is free but you
must purchase a license to fish along the ocean's edge along the beach.
There's also a public dock where fishing is free. Located off of Warner
Avenue, within view of the ocean, it offers meter parking.
CAMPING
Recreational Vehicle camping is available in parking lots at Huntington City
Beach and Bolsa
Chica State Beach.
No tent camping is allowed in the city, except by special events permit for
Central Park.
DOGS
Special interest activities include 3 pet friendly places of note. Dog Beach
between Seapoint Avenue and Golden West Street on Pacific Coast Highway, Dog
Park near Lake Huntington in Central Park, off Edwards Street and Talbert and
Alice's Breakfast in the Park and the Park Bench Cafe with pet friendly policies.
