San Bernardino... The Rim of the World Highway is a scenic 45-mile drive through the San Bernardino Mountains to the resort areas of Big Bear Lake and Lake Arrowhead. Along the way are picnic areas, hiking trails, scenic overlooks, and lakes with beaches.

San Bernardinois actually quite a distance east of Los Angeles. In fact, sitting at the base of the San Bernardino mountains, it's the capital of what is known as the Inland Empire.
